Today, March 15, 2024 is Red Nose Day for our friends in the UK. Red Nose Day is an annual fundraising campaign in the UK created by Comic Relief to help raise awareness of and put an end to child poverty. Often, the day ends with a live telethon with a variety of acts, sketches and short videos that feature people in need from all around the UK and the world. The charity Comic Relief was introduced on the BBC live on Christmas Day in 1985. It was set up by film writer and director Richard Curtis and friends. The first Red Nose Day was held on the evening of February 5, 1988, and this was also the first time people could buy the famous Red Noses. This first eight-hour Red Nose Day telethon raised £15m and was watched by 30 million people! OF COURSE our main man Phil Collins supported this effort over the years, appearing in the first telethon broadcast in 1988, then again in 1939, and in 1995, he contributed the awesome segment singing "Old McDonald." in 2004 he appeared on a German TV Show's Red Nose Day with Sonya Krause.
