At the 1991 Tournament of Champions, there was a telephone hoax call received just as the players were warming up. This caused the bowling alley to be evacuated and it had to then be searched. Luckily, it did turn out to be a hoax call, but there was a great deal of uncertainty as a similar incident had occurred at a tournament the previous week, which turned out to be genuine.
