The Panjnad Barrage is the last Barrage constructed on the River Chenab, situated downstream of the confluence point of River Sutlej. It is located about 13 km south east of Alipur Tehsil, (Latitude 29°21’ N and Longitude 71°01’ E), District Muzaffargarh along the Alipur – Uch Sharif road. The distance of the Barrage from the confluence of rivers is about 6 km. The Rehabilitation and Upgrading of the Panjnad Barrage Project has commenced as of July 10, 2018 after receipt of commencement Letter from the Engineer. The formal agreement was however signed on April 13, 2018 between The Employer and Contractor/SWEG-RSL Joint Venture.
