So focus on the things of the Spirit. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the first step. He is standing there with open arms. He isn't asking you to change anything about yourself, just come to Him as you are with the knowledge that He is all you need and desires the best for you. The second step is spiritual discipline. Praying, reading the Bible and worship consistently everyday. Doing this, you're just building a solid foundation, where you have a constant source of spiritual nourishment for your soul. In addition, embrace God's grace. Ephesians 2:4-10. Our works don't save us so it is also our works that won't ultimately lead to our deliverance. It's solely the grace of God that leads to our deliverance. Embrace His grace and when you do that, know that God is lifting up your soul with Christ, raising you high above the things of this world and helping you live life with the knowledge that nothing done on this earth truly matters apart from living sold out for Christ. The shame you feel are attacks from the enemy against your identity and God-purposed destiny.
