A brilliant morning spent at Apsley on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Midland, West Coast Railways and Freightliner. The station is absolutely brilliant, you need to be fairly on the ball to catch the southbound services as you don't get much notice of the trains approaching the station unless you have very good hearing and can hear them approaching on the rails, the highlight here has to be the two WCR 47's working a charter from Manchester to Portsmouth Harbour where they would spend 3 hours before working the return journey to Manchester Piccadilly. Network Rail were also present during my stay here so there are plenty of amazing tones throughout.
