I decided to do a video like this to try and help anyone who might be getting into astrophotography and has a similar setup as I do. I went through several trial and errors with this rig and I had 2 or 3 nights where I spent 5 hours trying to get everything working but ended up blowing a night of shooting because nothing seemed to work. I couldn't find anything on the internet on my exact setup so I thought it might be a good idea to do what I could to detail my experience. My AP is as follows: Celestron edge 8hd Celestron CGEM II mount asi294mc pro color camera asi290mm mini guide camera ASIAIR control with my IPAD Celestron OAG Optolong L-Pro filter Celestron .7 reducer I would appreciate any comments and I have several rigs so I will try to make more videos with my different setups in the future. I also try and update my website at theeverydayastronomer.com UPDATE: After using this setup a handful of times, there is an important detail that I think should be noted. I mention it at the end of the video but for some reason, my mount will switch to "tracking rate - None" on the hand controller. You will know this because when you preview for 5 seconds, you will have trails. You need to change that setting to "EQ-North" (or south if you are in the southern hemisphere). Not sure if this is isolated or it happens to other people but it doesn't happen in the middle of imaging and its really easy to spot and fix.
