Reordering the Future: What's the youth voice in the changing world order?

The purpose of this panel debate is to bring citizens from Africa and Europe together to discuss their perceptions of the current global governance and finance order and the reforms they envision. Timing is particularly key given the IMF and Word Bank Annual Meetings taking place in Morocco on 9-15 October. There is widespread agreement that current governance and finance systems are not delivering in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate crisis and Ukraine war, which have seen countries report significant increases in the prices of food, housing and fuel. Young people, who are among the most impacted, have been vocal about what needs to change to meet the demands of the changing world. This informal discussion is a platform for youth to exchange ideas and will include input and reactions from experts within the AEF network who have a deep understanding of the conversation around reforms and its practicalities.
