"A Gentle Stroll" by Zoroa & Knots | Geometry Dash 2.11

It's only been roughly 3 weeks since "Ring Trick" by Zoroa, which I figured would be his last work of 2.1. Today he suddenly released "A Gentle Stroll", and of course I won't complain about getting to play another great level before 2.2. This time around it's a collaboration with Knots as well, which is even more interesting. I can't say they're two creators I've imagined working together, simply because their styles are so different. Right from the start, we can tell that it's Zoroa's part due to the simple effects mixed in. I do like that he incorporated some art which fits better with Knots's part, starting from 0:33. This is evident due to his iconic modern art style seen in the designs, backgrounds, and colors. From 1:16, we have another Zoroa part, which is made clear by the logo but also more effects returning. This section features more rainbow colors, fitting for the climax of the song. What I'm trying to illustrate here is that it's very obvious when you get to each creator's part, and I think that's charming. It's how collaborations used to be back in the day, making me a bit nostalgic personally. Nowadays, they often look very homogeneous which is good for consistency and cohesiveness, but it's nice to see a more clear-cut separation of styles every now and then. With that being said, both parts still feature some neat art and colors that fit nicely for the level name, creating a subtle overall theme. As for the gameplay, it's really enjoyable as expected from these two. Every part is really clear with lenient timings. Some parts get a bit fast, especially at the climax, but the required inputs aren't too many. This got an Epic 9 Stars rating, which I think works well.
