1974 Permatex 200

With Speedweeks 2017 kicking off, I went back in my archives and dug out the 1974 Permatex 200. This event featuring the NASCAR modified division on the 3.8 mile road course ran for three years (1974, 1975 and 1976). In 1974, of the 36 starters only 10 were around at the finish. The race features modified legend Richie Evans along with Maynard Troyer, Tiny Lund, Geoff Bodine and Bobby Allison. For me, the cars steal the show, Paul Radford led for 5 laps in a 1972 AMC Gremlin. If you look carefully at the pace lap coverage, you will catch a glimpse of the 1936 Chevrolet driven by Jack Duffie. There are some nice shots of Richie Evans 1972 Ford Pinto as well. Enjoy!
