Hot Pockets no longer come with a crisping sleeve, the very thing they invented to solve the soggy hot pocket problem. Surely they must have a good reason.... #rant #grocery #prices #shrinkflation #hotpocket #pizza #ham #cheese #corporategreed #nestle #packaging #nutrition #savemoney My eBay Store: https://www.ebay.com/str/storeofthece... My Twitch: / coruptai125 My Instagram: / coruptai125 My TikTok: / coruptai125 Nestle has some key lines on their site about removing the crisping sleeves, but there is no press release of course. Why would they ever announce this when they know it would get a backlash. Instead they're slowly rolling it out and keeping the backlash they should be getting at a minimum. I hope that backfires spectacularly. The still have multiple references to the sleeves on their site, including this key line: "We use the sleeves to talk to you, and we change what we’re saying from time to time." I guess they don't really care to communicate anymore. On their site they again push more meat and cheese as a plus and sweep aside the sleeve as trash to be recycled. Which is true, but not why their gone. They had a purpose, and Nestle did nothing to make up for their absence in regards to the sole purpose of the sleeve. Why didn't our hot pockets have more cheese and pepperoni before this? Curiously their website faq does not reference the lack of sleeve at all, I have to assume that's because they're incompetent and/or plan to silently remove any reference to crisping sleeves having ever existed and the FAQ is ahead of the game! Also for fun here's a quote given a company spokesperson last year in May, so about 16 months ago, in regards to the lack of sleeves in their new big and bold hot pockets: "Our chefs found that with a bigger product, optimal crisp could be reached without the sleeve,” the spokesperson continued. “However, Hot Pockets still uses the iconic crisping sleeve on all other product lines to provide the crispy crust and unique product experience that our fans love.” What a great quote. Technically flawless, because these regular hot pockets are now maybe 5% bigger than they were before and packed with fillers. Guess the unique product experience isn't important anymore...
