November 1, 2023 - the day that Kotlin Multiplatform became stable and production-ready. Although this marks an important landmark in Multiplatform development, truth be told, a lot of companies have been using it on their apps for some years now. Some share the entire business logic; others share network access; and then there are ones that are only used for database access. This is one of the brilliant features that we have. Anyone can decide what's worth sharing. Days later, we saw the new release of Compose Multiplatform, then the launch of Fleet, and while I'm writing this description, we now have Kotlin 2.0.0 with the new K2 compiler enabled by default. At this moment, it almost feels like a magic trick where I'm watching JetBrains pull new tools and versions out of their wrists. It's mesmerising! In this talk, we're going through all of these new releases and analysing the current state of Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform in this brave new world.
