1992 GK Gallien-Krueger 212HS Stereo/Mono Convertible Slanted Cab You are listening to a one of a kind custom vintage made in the USA Gallien Krueger GK 212 Cab. Loaded with two of the best Vintage guitar speakers you will find: A made in the UK 16 ohm Marshall branded Celestion Vintage 30-G12 (70 watt) speaker which in itself is not the easiest speaker to find anymore, an amazing sounding speaker on it's own, but what makes this cab even more unique and rare is that the Marshall speaker is matched up with a very rare Legendary made in the USA 16 ohm Electrovoice EVM Series II 12L-16 speaker. (200 Watt Classic) making this cab capable of handling a whopping 270 watts of classic vintage sounding power. It's almost impossible to find this speaker in a 16 ohm version, which is what is in this Cab. The guitar being played is a Warmoth H/H Custom build with Bare Knuckle Mississippi Queen Humbucker sized P90 pickups. Elixir Optiweb light top heavy bottom strings. .012 to .052 gauge. The amp I am using for this clip is a Laney LH50R with 6L6 JJ power tubes. Joe Bonamassa says he uses the EVM speakers exclusively for their superior tone and because he can't blow them! He was constantly blowing speakers before he started using the them. You don't see too many of these around these days as they are getting quite hard to find. They rarely come up on Ebay as when people get one they hang onto them. The EVM speaker is often referred to as the World's greatest guitar speaker. This cab originally came wired for stereo mode (2x16 ohm) or mono (8 ohm) but because I never used it in stereo mode I simply re-wired it direct in Parallel mode (8 ohm) using a switch craft jack for a solid high quality direct connection. I also added a 3/4 inch back cover which makes this a convertible cab that can be used open back or closed for different applications and sound. For being a 30 year old cab it's in overall excellent condition, works perfect and the Cab sounds fantastic! It's spent the last 20 years in my smoke free studio. Great for that classic rock or blues tone! So many of the greats used the EVM 12L from Jimi Hendrix, Paul Kossoff from Free, Joe Bonamassa, Carlos Santana, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Page, Zakk Wylde, Gary Moore and the list goes on.
