LoftBits: Ferranti Pegasus computer (1955) - a fine example of Vintage British Computing

Cited after Wikipedia: "The Pegasus 1 was first delivered in 1956 and the Pegasus 2 was delivered in 1959. Ferranti sold twenty-six copies of the Pegasus 1 and twelve copies of the Pegasus 2, making it Ferranti's most popular valve (vacuum tube) computer.(...)" This is a promotional/educational film showing its various applications and, most importantly, the 'computing cycle' itself (please note the early error checking protocol - two typists simultaneously punching in the program!). The computer is presented by a 'typical computer operator' of those days... The good old selling techniques never changed - and why should they? A bird, a couple of hot tubes and...bang! Twenty six copies sold! ;-) But seriously, If you ever have a chance, go and see it at the London Science Museum - its towers are simply MAJECTIC!
