Join me as I go looking for Long-Eared Owls to photograph in the forest on a crisp morning in the late fall of 2019. I’ll show you what signs I look for and give you some overall tips for finding owls. I’ll also show how unpredictable and challenging bird photography can be as something beyond my control suddenly made this shoot a lot more challenging than I expected. In addition to this, I’ll share with you some thoughts on the ethics of bird photography and the balance of getting interesting shots without causing wildlife undue stress. Thanks for watching and as always I’d love to hear your feedback. If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment. Who I am: I am a passionate amateur wildlife photographer living in beautiful BC, Canada. I’m originally from Denmark, but I moved to BC in 2015. I photograph a wide variety of wildlife, but Belted Kingfishers have a very special place in my heart. Lately I’ve been spending more time in “stealth mode” using camouflage to conceal myself to the animals don’t change their behaviour do to my presence. It's waaaaaaay more difficult, and time consuming than simply walking around with your camera, but ultimately much more satisfying.
