Deb Vanslet and Elana Wright are both prominent figures in media and storytelling. Deb Vanslet, a storyteller, writer, and media artist, co-produced and hosted Dykes on Mykes at CKUT 90.3 FM for sixteen years with Elana Wright. She currently works as a producer and storyteller at Confabulation and is the production coordinator at Ada-X, a feminist artist-run center. Elana Wright, who also co-hosted Dykes on Mykes for over a decade, interviewed notable figures like Ani DiFranco and Annie Sprinkle. She studied women’s studies and communications at Concordia University, where she now works in the university’s communication services. Amelle Margaron is an MA student in Media Studies at Concordia University. Her thesis explores the formation and values of creative networked communities on the social media platform Tumblr. More generally, Amelle’s research is interested in visual media, art history and platform studies. Amelle also holds a BA in Communication Studies from Concordia University. She is currently a member of the university’s Digital Culture, Intimacy, and Sexuality lab and was previously affiliated with the art history publication Yiara Magazine and student festival Art Matters during her undergraduate studies. ANALOGUE REVOLUTION explores how Canadian feminist storytellers from the 1970s to 90s used advanced media to document issues.
