Faculty candidates who are invited for an interview at a law school will be expected to make about a one-hour presentation to faculty on the topic of the candidates' choice. This is commonly referred to as a "job talk." This video includes the presentation of a mock job talk. It has been staged and scripted, but the participants simulate the experience of giving a job talk as part of the faculty recruitment process and present some of the challenging situations that may occur during the talk. We hope that this video will help candidates for law faculty positions prepare for their job talk presentations. Kate Weisburd, Associate Professor of Law at the George Washington University School of Law, presents the mock job talk. She is introduced by Emily Hammond, Glen Earl Weston Research Professor at the George Washington University School of Law. Sean Scott, Associate Director at the Association of American Law Schools and Professor of Law at the Loyola Law School provides opening and closing remarks. A second video provides a recap and debrief of the mock job talk with the participants. Special thanks to the George Washington University Law School for hosting the mock job talk.
