Pat: Oh, mate a very difficult question but I would have to imagine my experience that that's everything, the good from the great. But certain people might not be able to take the workload because they understand some players, you know, if they work hard it might fry them out earlier and they lose. Like Nadal, the kid is an unbelievable trainer and worker but there is only so much your body can take of that. And your mind can take it. So everyone is different. You've got to work within what works best for you. But for me, I was at the stage where I was ready to work really hard and I'd gone through a couple of years, where I'd come on the tour and I didn't quite know where I fitted in. And after 96, 93 through to 96, you know I was sort of hovering and then I started working really hard in 96, had the results in 97/98 and then went on through to 99 to 2000 - had some decent results there as well. Yeah, mate and everyone's got- You know, I stopped at 28 as well because I felt like I had friend myself out. So I had had enough of it so it's a really tough. Everyone will deal with different work loads differently. Hugh: A player like Rod Laver, won the Grand Slam twice, what do you think, you know, the ingredients behind his success were? Pat: Bloody good player. And those guys, they were the throw back of the old Aussies. They were unbelievably hard workers. You know, there was no nonsense about those guys and there was 20 of them on the tour and they all pushed each other really hard. They loved the game. They were just your traditional good old Aussie occers that had great values and values that I've tried to live by as well. ======================================================== ► About Pat Rafter Pat Rafter is one of Australia’s most loved sports stars.
