Composition can be really hard. Learning about it theoretically is one way to approach it, but experimenting with it A LOT, is probably the best way to learn and to get a feel for it. As you can see in this video, often we don't even know WHY a certain composition works for us. We just feel it does. Until we sit back and try to analyze it. Then something logical comes up that we can learn from. What I like to do, is to do these composition exercises in between painting my treeworlds, for example.
