A choral work commissioned by the City of Birmingham Choir. A work written for an 8 part mixed voice choir, a children's choir, narrator, piano, bass, drums, percussion. This work tells the story of the Rain Queen who is based in South Africa and the tribal dance that happens annually. It then evolves into songs that show a playful outlook on nature through a child's eyes and gives thanks for the worlds resources. The work concludes with a dramatic thunderstorm created by the hands of the performers. This video was taken during it's premiere at the Birmingham Town Hall on June 14th 2015. It was part of a larger concert called 'Zimbe!' organised by Victoria Wilcher from CBC.
