Teutons is the name given to many groups who have lived east of the Rhine during antiquity and the medieval period. In Age of Empires 2, Teutons refer to the Holy Roman Empire in East Francia / Germany, and their connection to the Pope in Rome. The local populations were converted to Catholicism following the conquest of Charlemagne to create a unified empire. The continual religious conquests into the levant and baltic regions had very minor impacts on the cuisine of the region.
