Erik emigrated from South Africa to Australia in 2016 to remarry the love of his life and settle in Palmwoods on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Erik says that finding a sense of purpose and having things to do each day was instrumental in picking himself after being retrenched three times during his career in South Africa. Now in Australia with a small pension and limited capital, this resilience is evident in how Erik is establishing himself as the repairer of appliances and the polisher of words.
