Average White Band - Cut the Cake [TABS in video guitar cover & lesson]

A lot of time and effort has been spent to make these video's. I will continue uploading free stuff. But if you like, you can make a donation: paypal.me/haldordoekes Notes: in the song, no 2 bars are exactly the same. Throughout the original song, there are many variations in the way the riffs are played, and nothing in this song is exactly symetric. In this video you will see the riffs I would choose to use for the basics. When you’re playing the song yourself (in a band or at home, whatever), I encourage you to alter the riffs ad lib along the way. Also, this version is much shorter than the original. After the first verse, I skipped to the outro. The rest of the song is full of variations of the same thing. Just combine the intro and the basic riffs and you will roughly have the guitar parts covered. In the end of the video you will see the steps I think you should take to master the funky groove. Once you get the last step, use a metronome and boost the tempo, and keep your hands relaxed! “Cut the Cake” is in my opinion one of the funkiest grooves written for a combination of two guitars. I really enjoy playing it. The song came out on the album Cut the Cake in 1975. For this video I used my Squier Strat & my Eastwood Airline Bighorn, with an emulated Blackstar HT dual (no amp). --------------------- Hi there, I'm Haldor from the Netherlands. I play various instruments, and I want to share with you my arrangements and musical ideas. I will post a new video every month. Different styles, different arrangements. From classical to jazz, from funk to rock. Please give a thumbs up if you like it, and leave a comment if you have suggestions for new songs / pieces to play. And don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any new video's. Thanks! http://www.haldordoekes.nl
