Swatching Six Sailor Manyo Inks ~ Episode 155 ~

Please join me as I swatch a few Sailor Manyo Inks, some of which are newish and one of my favorite inks, Sailor Manyo Ukikusa, a pretty, fresh, spring green that is a terrific shader and always makes me happy when I see it. I swatch the inks on Tomoe River Plain Notebook paper and Col-o-Ring cards and show some writing samples on five other papers, including two cream colored papers, and show chromatography results of all the colors. The dusky evening light is augmented by overhead lights, and my iPhone camera isn't always the best at rendering color the way my eyes see it, and that is especially true with the Birmingham Fieldstone-look of the first ink, Aka-Mai, which in person is closer to a pink-brown though not quite as pink as Colorverse Brunch Date. To my mind, the truer color of this Aka-Mai ink looks best in broad or double broad lines, and I thought my champagne Decimo was a broad nib: turns out is is a medium. Sorry this swatch session is a bit disjointed in the beginning when I realize I didn't have any water cups prepared to rinse the Sakamori dip pen between inks.
