He learned the basics from the song book the Carter family. Way before that, when Van was tiny, he used to listen to the largest records collections in Northern Ireland that he’s dad owned (we think his dad was awesome 😸) at that time little van was exposed to diverse genres of music from Charlie Parker to Jimmy Rogers, Muddy Waters iand Hank Williams. He formed his first band when he was 13 and since then he hasn’t stopped at all. He has recorded 41 albums and hundreds upon hundreds of songs.
