If you plan for a visit to Sikkim, you can not afford missing out the thrill and adventure of travelling through a craggy alpine terrain wherein the famous Tsomgo Lake & Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple are located. Make sure to contact a registered tour operator in Sikkim who will organize the day trip at your behest. Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple is located between Nathula and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 13123 ft. The mountain locked terrain being a protective area, you (the domestic tourists) require a Protective Area Permit (PAP) which the tour operator will take care of. A photocopy of your ID proof (Passport or Voter's ID Card) and two passport size photographs are required to get your permit issued. Children below the age of 5 are not issued PAP to visit these high- altitude places as many travellers, particularly the children and the aged often complain of altitude sickness here. The international tourists are not allowed to visit Baba Mandir. However, they can travel up to Tsomgo Lake and required a Permit to be issued by Sikkim Tourism and Civil Aviation Depatment. Our driver charged us 5000 bucks for a round trip from Gangtok to Baba Mandir.
