Buying a pre-owned car? Here's a review of car dealers like Spinny, Cardekho, Cars24, OLA cars, Mahindra first choice, etc. A few months ago, I purchased my very first car! It took me many years to get to this point and quite some time to lock in on the vehicle. During the course of the process, I thought of documenting my journey and putting it out on Youtube to help anyone who also felt confused or spoilt for choices like me. There are so many cars out there and so many questions one must answer about the kind of car they wish to buy. So some things like mileage, fuel efficiency, space, features, and brand. Besides this, if you are purchasing a pre-owned car, you must also make sure, the vehicle is in excellent condition, and get it checked thoroughly. Tell me what you think! Certified cars - Please note guys, I checked out cars under every dealer's certified collection. That means that I paid a premium on the price because the certified cars are thoroughly checked and are usually the best of the lot on offer. It is very difficult to bargain with them, especially Spinny folks. Spinny has the biggest premium based on my research, and I would suggest that you try your best to get the best deal out of them. Bank loans - I cannot stress this enough, get a loan on your own, the cardekho accounts team, offered 15% on the loan amount and made me beg to reduced the interest rates. They also have policies where they won't let you get a loan on your own, and try to scare you that your car purchase will get delayed or they can't keep the car booked for you that long. Its not easy, but keep arguing at each front. After-sales & Buy-back - Their buy back options are laughable, one of their features for certified cars would be that they will buy the car back from you after a certain period. That price will be extremely less, so don't get swayed by that feature. If you sit on calculating, you will know how off your purchase price and selling price will be from the market. Registration & insurance - Beware of hidden charges that they 'forget' to disclose, or did not know. Check all the documents for pending penalties and insurance expiry.
