Read the article here: https://backinshapeprogram.com/2020/1... Thank you for joining us for today’s livestream where we talked about how to get the most out of our Back In Shape program! Our Back In Shape program has been designed to help you with any kind of back pain, whether you’ve had it for 2 weeks or 20 years. Its three phases are formulated to teach you exactly what exercises and stretches to combine with one another for the very best results, to strengthen your back and core against future injury. Every patient that we’ve seen over the last 5 years at The Mayfair Clinic has given us experience with exactly what causes back pain. We look primarily at back pain under upright imaging rather than relying on physical examination alone, as this can be very misleading. Upright imaging gives us an accurate understanding of the process. We’ve developed over the years the right rehabilitation that they need to do, without causing relapses and is progressive so that they help their back recover in the long-term. You can’t be put in a test-tube during this process, so you may have relapses along the way, but you won’t be going back to square one. We see people who’ve come down with back pain on the same day, or who’ve had the problem for many decades or have had a series of back surgeries. Every person with every kind of back pain needs more stability in their spine. In every case, you need hip mobility because they’re affected by the lumbar spine. Rehabilitation cannot be avoided. Whether you pick injections, painkillers or surgery as a treatment approach, rehabilitation cannot be ignored as those approaches are not targeting the underlying problem. When you do have a long-term problem, you’ll likely to want to try lots of different things to help. When you have a more complex issue, the importance that you do the right exercises with the right technique is more important and it can take time to get right. If you’re a lady who’s had a C-section, the importance of going through the right rehabilitation is important so you may struggle more than the average person. Someone with a less severe problem may have a greater degree of deviancy from the program because they’re not at the stage yet where they have more incompetence in their spine. Even powerlifters or experienced gym-goers may still struggle with the exercises in the earlier phases as they haven’t perhaps focused on core engagement in their training. The important note is that you shouldn’t skip through the program just because it seems easy for you. Go through all the phases but the rate at which you progress may be slower or quicker than others based on your individual starting point. Make sure you’re not doing exercises that are making you worse, so the things you do outside the Back In Shape program don’t interfere. Don’t change the ice to heat or do it longer, don’t do the towel exercise for longer - all of our program has its own individual time scales that are there for a reason. Ask questions in the Facebook group. The Facebook group is for premium members and allows you direct access to everybody else who’s doing this program with you. The questions we answered today were: After a recent MRI I was diagnosed with facet arthropathy, what should I do? It’s likely to be the lower lumbar facets that have been affected by years of instability. If you need some personal guidance please do get in touch but the Back In Shape program is definitely applicable in this case, follow this as it will work for facet joint problems. If you don’t engage your core correctly when doing the exercises, it’ll hurt so it’s important you follow them to the letter. Check if there’s any disc involvement. Having aching fingers and numbness is related with spine condition? Yes, but there’s other things as well that could be potential causes. Diabetes causes peripheral neuropathy, as does B12 deficiency. If it’s coming from the neck, you’re going to have a peculiar pattern - such as weakness or aching in a specific area of the hand or specific fingers. #BackInShape #BackPain #OnlineProgram
