Enabel Sustainable School Design for East Africa Conference, 2-3 July 2024

Enabel Uganda school design conference held at KISU Kampala, Uganda from 2nd to 3rd of July 2024. The conference aims to raise awareness on designing schools that are community centered, better adapted to the climate, more energy and cost efficient and durable. The conference will add to building the community of practice and the dissemination of best practices and lessons learned. We also hope to widen participation from the private sector, academia, development and governmental partners in East Africa and stimulate the wider application of the principles as described in the guide, making interventions more sustainable in both socio-economic and environmental aspects. Additionally, the conference will add to a school design guide that is being developed and will help steer higher quality, more sustainable, and better value school buildings across East Africa.
