This video is of a mission I created using the FMB tool in the VPMod version of IL-2 1946. It is based on a historical event that occurred on Christmas day of 1944 in the Ardennes forest during the Battle of the Bulge. The player leads a flight of P-47D-27s, escorting a flight of C-47 cargo planes as they drop supplies to the desperate Allied soldiers who are surrounded by German forces in the town of Bastogne, Belgium.
