In this video, I'll show you a really quick way to resolve this Windows Updates issue where updates do not work and it says "Error encountered". This problem happens when there are some policies configured on the computer that are interfering with the normal functionality of Windows Updates. The quickest solution in these cases is to to run a few commands in the command prompt as administrator to remove the folder that contains the current settings that are causing this error. The system will automatically generate the folder with default values that will not be applied and in effect, restore the normal function of the Windows Update services on the computer. The commands we will need to accomplish this are below.
