Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Air Lift Load Controller 1, on a 2017, Ram 1500. Now this system is going to be great for those of you that already have airbags in a manual configuration. And what it does is, instead of having to manually fill your bags on the rear schrader valves, you can actually do it from the comfort of your truck and on the fly. So that way, when you hook up, or add a load, or take off the load, you can adjust it right then and there without having to have air to fill this up. If you're halfway through your load, and all of a sudden you say, man, I could use a little bit more support in the rear. Touch of a button and you can raise that up. And if your load is slightly off, one side to the other, you can actually adjust the bags independently allowing you to custom-fit your ride while towing. As far as the installation goes, it's really not terribly hard to do. You will have to be under the truck for a little bit. The way that I ran it in my install, I have it off to the side. So, really it's gonna be a little bit easier than having to climb completely under. You are gonna have to get to where your airbags are to make those connections and run some wiring into the interior, as well as mount up a gauge. It seems like a lot, but step-by-step, none of it's terribly hard to do. And once you have it installed, it is really awesome to have. It's kind of fun just to have on your vehicle a nice accessory, that really makes a huge difference when you have loads constantly. So if you tow trailers often, you're gonna be really happy with this. Speaking of the install, let's actually take a look at that step-by-step to get your compressor installed. To begin our installation, it really comes down to laying out everything. And the first thing we gonna wanna lay out, is our compressor. Now, you can mount this in a bunch of different areas. The main thing is you're gonna wanna stay away from heat. So, preferably away from the exhaust and obviously away from moving parts. The part of it too, is we're gonna be connecting some electrical wires as well as airlines. So, having a place you can kind of tie into everything, but also be out of the way, is ideal. You also have an air filter cartridge up here. It does come with a filter already installed. So that's nice and mounting this in a spot where it's not gonna get a bunch of road grim, dust, dirt debris, whatever buildup on it is gonna be key. So, looking around, there was a few options that I could kind of pick from. But, on the driver's side here, you can see this portion of the bed is hidden here, and that's gonna allow me to really drill those out. And get this mounted up, nice and easy, rather than having to drill through some thicker metal. So, right about here is kind of what I'm thinking. So what I'm gonna do is just take a center punch and I'm just gonna make some dimples here so we can get a pilot hole to get our hardware through. And I'm gonna drill that out, and I'm gonna at the rest of the hole drilled. So now we have our compressor mounted up, our air filters sitting up to where it's gonna be out of the elements and we're gonna be able to connect everything and have access to it, really easily. And that's something I've noticed on some of the Ram trucks is the layout of the suspension doesn't really make it easy to get things mounted up and routed super well. So having a spot over here, that's gonna be able to really work on this stuff and make connections without having anything in the way, it's gonna be really nice. So mounting up our solenoids is gonna be the next thing. And this is gonna actually control that air pressure to and from. So, we want this pretty much outta the elements, just like we did our compressor and looking at this spot, we're gonna see there's four holes on this bracket. It comes with self tapping screws. So, I think a pretty good spot might be right about here. Now it's away from the exhaust, it's away from anything that's gonna pinch it. You are gonna have to run some airlines out, so if you put it up too close, that airline might pinch kind of just going into that. So I'm gonna just drop it down, just a little bit. I'm gonna make some marks and then run a small pilot hole, and that way I can get my self-tappers in, no problem. So now we're goi
