Satinath Bhaduri is a prominent Indian Bengali novelist and freedom fighter. Jagri's novel, written in the context of contemporary political movements during the Quit India Movement, brought him fame. He won the Rabindra Award in 1950 for this book. The book was also translated into English in 1985 as part of a collection of UNESCO-represented literary works. Divided into 4 chapters, this novel is called Kara-novel. The author has portrayed the perfect picture of prison in such a way that prison has also become impressive to the reader. Written with 4 characters, 4 chapters, 1 night and 1 execution, this novel is one of the creations in the world of Bengali literature which has been able to win the hearts of readers of all types.
