SIHI® Side Channel Pumps — Value and Versatility
SIHI® side channel pumps from Flowserve provide exceptional application versatility. They are known for their outstanding gas-handling capability and low cost of ownership. Four key capabilities make them a better value than many centrifugal pumps: 1. They efficiently handle gas-entrained fluids with high vapor content. Centrifugal pumps can underperform and air lock with as little as 3% entrained vapor. SIHI Side Channel pumps accommodate as much as 50% vapor in the suction stream with no ill effects. 2. They are self-priming. SIHI Side Channel pumps do not require a vacuum or booster pump to prime the pump in suction-lift applications. 3. They provide cavitation-free operation. SIHI side channel pumps can operate without cavitation at NPSH values as low as 0.18 m or 0.6 ft. 4. They have a steep performance curve. Compared to centrifugal pumps, SIHI side channel pumps provide a more consistent flow rate in response to differential pressure or temperature variations.
