Bone-Chilling Unmade Return Of The Thing Sequel - Explored - Fates Of Macready And Childs Revealed

John Carpenter’s The Thing concluded with a bleak ending that has people scratch their heads up until today. People have always wondered what happened to MacReady and Childs after they faced each other in the shack, weapons pointed at one other and sipping from a bottle of J&B. Were either of them infected? Did someone come to rescue them? If yes, when? What happened to the spaceship? Several comics have sought to answer the question that the film left behind, but none seemed satisfactory enough. But there exists a piece of work that isn’t just satisfactory but worthy of being turned into a sequel. It has mostly gotten lost in the shadows of obscurity, but Marvelous Videos found the lost gem. We found the script written by David Leslie Johnson, once an assistant of famous director Frank Darabont, who is known for films like Shawshank Redemption. Johnson had written a sequel to John Carpenter’s film, and the script was to be converted into a mini-series for Sci-Fi Channel, which Darabont himself was supposed to produce. But unfortunately, the project could never see the light of day. It was unfortunate because the script was exceedingly promising and had the potential to expand on the lore already set by Carpenter. Nevertheless, in this video, we will try to give Johnson and his work the deserving respect and hope that it is someday taken into consideration when they work on the next installment of The Thing.
