Welcome to a video in my technology take-up series. Here were gonna be taking an older Dell XPS 13 (L321X) model laptop made in 2015. This laptop is great little ultra book and still performs great for watching videos, and web browsing, and still works great for Photoshop. Recently it's been having an issue of thermally shutting down when watching YouTube videos for too long, and if you ever decide to put it anywhere near your lap, well no laptop for you. The issue wasn't there in the beginning and it seems age and use had taken its toll on the conductive thermal paste that wicks away the heat from the CPU die to a copper rod that is air cooled. If your paste is dried up, old, or been heated up to higher temps far too many times, this can cause the paste to become less effective which compounds the issue. Today were gonna be opening this bad boy and throwing some new paste on to shed a few degrees from our operating temps. This is a A (Greater Than) B Approach where I will be determining if results were had or not after the new paste is applied. Check it!
