This Bass Thinks it's a Japanese Shamisen

Introducing the "Bassmisen," a bass modified with inspiration from the Japanese shamisen. I de-fretted a vintage Hagstrom bass, filled the fret slots with white plastic binding, planed the board, took the nut down, cut a big bone saddle for it, put new strings on, and tuned them to a traditional Shamisen tuning. Tuning is C G C G. Strings are nickel wound .062w, .038w, and plain steel .024, .016. Recorded into a 3U Audio Teal CM-1 large diaphragm condenser microphone pointed at around the 15th fret area or so. Plugins: First ran into F6 EQ. Added about 15dB @ 195Hz, and did a sharp dropoff starting around 6.3kHz and reaching the bottom at about 10.3kHz. Then ran into Archetype: Petrucci. The only active effect is the Piezo simulator amp head. Presence all the way down, Middle all the way up, Treble all the way up, Bass at about 1:00, Body all the way up, Level at about 1:00. Mono mode, and the Doubler is off. Output is +6dB, input 0. Then finally ran into Abbey Road: Chambers. Acoustic Dreams stock preset with the Reverb at 100% and the Mix at 15%. All footage from different points in time using my 44 Mb/s EOSHD Vanilla hacked Lumix GH2 and various lenses, mostly an SLR Magic 8mm.
