Soya Pepper Roast (Malayalam) - A must try recipe!

A spicy and delicious dish that’s packed with protein—Soya Chunks Pepper Roast. This recipe is perfect for those looking for a delicious & healthy vegetarian option! Ingredients Soya Chunks : 100 grams Oil – 2 tablespoons Ginger Crushed – 1 tablespoon Garlic Crushed – 1 tablespoon Onions – 3 large Tomato – 2 large Curry leaves – few Green Chilly – 2 to 3 Salt to taste Turmeric Powder – 1/4th teaspoon Kashmiri Chilly Powder – 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder – 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder – 1 teaspoon Pepper Powder – 1 heaped teaspoon Coconut Pieces ( Thinly sliced ) – Half cup Coriander Leaves – To garnish Keep a pan on high heat and boil the water by adding a teaspoon of salt. Once the water starts boiling, add the soya chunks and let them cook for 5-7 minutes until the soya is soft. Drain all the water and rinse the soya chunks with cold water for 2 to 3 times. Squeeze out all the excess water from soya & set it aside. Now lets start preparing this dish. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add crushed ginger and garlic, and sauté until the raw smell goes away. Now add green chilies, curry leaves, and chopped onions to it & sauté until the onions turn translucent. Add salt to taste and mix well. Add the sliced coconut pieces, combine all the ingredients, and cook until golden brown. Add the chopped tomatoes, stir, and cook until the tomatoes soften, and the oil starts to separate. Now add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala powder, and 1 teaspoon pepper powder. Please add more pepper powder than the chili powder if u like, as the flavour & spice of this dish should come from the pepper powder. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes. Add the cooked soya chunks to the pan, stirring well to coat it with the masala. Check for salt and add if needed. Close the lid and cook on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, allowing the chunks to absorb all the flavors. Open the lid and mix well for a few more minutes. Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.!
