Woollh Hat's Wednesday WIP, 31 July 2024

Making it up as you go along or stick to the pattern, which one are you? Welcome to my weekly ramblings on my knitting and crochet projects. This week I've been busy knitting socks for a birthay present. The lace pattern was nice but I wasn't making much progress. As I'm knitting to a deadline I've decide to do a simpler pattern. I know many of you like to work to a pattern but there are times when going off piste can make a project much more enjoyable and work better. Those of you who like making it up as you go along could also find inspiration from looking at a pattern and perhaps steeling some ideas for your next projet. For those who are interested the Yarn is from Soggy Kukabora, colour way 'the 6th Doctor' and it's bluefaced leicester with nylon. I bought it at Yarn o'clock in Mold, a great little yarn shop with lots of special wool, a lot from North Wales. Hurrah, Wensleydale Longwool Shop have sent through my missing balls of DK so I can get on with my jumper ( after I have finished my socks, of course) They rectified there mistake very quickly. The yarn is wonderful as well. For those of who want to know what the mistake was go to last weeks WHWW. Another wip I've been working on is Jane Crowfoots Frield of Gold blanket. I bought the pattern and yarn at Yarndale last year. I have crocheted all the componants and now I'm putting them all together and completing the boarder. The motifs are crocheted together so now sewing up. But there will be sewing in of ends to complete.
