It is the Highest mountain peak in the state which is 1365 meters. It is also considered as the world's largest Pilgrimage site of Jainism. The hill is named after Parshvanath, 23rd Tirthankar of Jain. This is one of the most holy places for the Jain Community. They call it SAMMED SHIKHER. Out of 24 Tirthankar's of Jain 20 got Nirvana on the Parasnath Hills. For each tirthankar there is a Shrine on the hill, Parasnath is one of them. There is a beautiful Jain Temple on the top of the hill, where the view is very beautiful. Some of the temples on the hills are believed to be more than 2000 years old.
