2022 Lexus NX 350H Luxury AWD Friday Night Lights and The NX By: Cathy Droz The Lexus NX 350h got a workout over the weekend. Out of the nine grandchildren I have, eight play some kind of sport. Most of them (5 boys and 3 girls) play something year round including football, baseball, basketball and karate. My husband and I find ourselves going to Friday night football for brothers playing same time on opposite fields. From there we take a 30-minute drive to a High School football game to watch our granddaughter on the dance line. Our Saturday's are split between baseball and basketball. I own a Lexus, the RX350 SUV (gasoline), so Lexus for me is tops. However, the 2022 NX hybrid was a nice surprise considering the price of gas. It felt a tad smaller inside and in the cargo area. Honestly I'm not sure some of the new finishes/touches I'm crazy about. The first red flag for me was how to get out of the vehicle, I was fumbling for a bit. I've seen many changes in getting in and out of my test cars over the years and usually I can figure it out. However, this exit had a learning curve for me as I pushed, poked and pulled. It appeared, once I understood it, easy by pushing on a lever with a somewhat awkward move. I didn't care for it, by my husband did. The navigation screen was very large, almost out of place for the size of the dash. Last but not least the gear shifter was set up so that shifting from park (push down) to D, R, N, was not in order. Very little was intuitive for me except the cup holders. It was a one of the nicest hybrids as it did not feel like one, except how quiet it was. Hybrids often times in my experience have a panting noise at a light or starting from a stop sign. This SUV was gentle as you brake, park and accelerate. The rear seats were soft and the center fold down with cup holders was softer and more cushioned than most. A very luxurious feel throughout and the Lexus puddle light insignia gets the grandkids every time. They mention it all the time and stare at it in awe. The rear cargo area wiper gets an A+ for being positioned perfect for my red heels. Way to go Lexus NX. MSRP: AS TESTED: Enjoy the video...
