Frontera 2.3TD - But how is it On-road?

In this video you can watch how the old Frontera behaves and performs on the road. Its a tad underpowered, a bit slow, it smokes a lot, and its stinky too, and on top of it all its made for off-road, so its pretty compromised on the road. Sooner or later you will have to use it at least a few times on the road though, and for that you get all the info here that you'll ever need. For road use you have to take a few precautions though! Never push the car too hard, as its not meant for high speeds (and high revs) for longer periods of time. That is why i also have set my limits to about 3300RPM. when it was new it was a relatively rev-happy engine, delivering its peak power over 4000RPM, but it became old, and many things can go wrong, like popping the headgasket, destroying the old and brittle chain guides, and so on, all expensive stuff, so its better to lay back, and not to push the thing too hard. Everyone is happy without major engine damage 😃 If you have the "G90" option, be ready for some rear end noise, like klicks and rubs, as G90 is the code of the factory rear locking diff, and it makes some horrible sounds when cornering at lower speeds on the pavement 😃 nothing is wrong though, everything is perfectly fine, even if it sounds like the whole rear of the car wants to disintegrate 😄 All in all its a fun daily tractor, what can bring you through pretty much any obsticle you can throw at it, but ist not the best on the roads, there are much faster, and comfortable options out there. Though the fuel economy is pretty unbeatable with about 8-9L/100km
