HOW TO: '95 - '97 Mercury Marquis / Crown Victoria TUNE UP, FULL TUTORIAL w/SUBTITLES

*****INFORMATION NOT MENTIONED IN VIDEO: -Never change spark plugs on a warm or hot engine. Expansion and contraction of metal because of heat can cause damage. Make sure engine is COLD before doing any tune up work. -I mentioned torque spec and that plugs should be torque'd with a wrench. I also mentioned that I torque hand tight plus 1/4 a turn -- that was a typo. It should read hand tight plus 1/8 of a turn. Check FSM for actual torque spec. ***** Vehicles directly covered in video: 1995 - 1997 Mercury Marquis 1995 - 1997 Lincoln Town Car 1995 - 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Vehicles not directly covered, but where process would likely be similar or the same: 1992 - 1994 Mercury Marquis 1992 - 1994 Lincoln Town Car 1992 - 1994 Ford Crown Victoria In this video we go in-depth on how to do a full tune up on Ford Panther Platform vehicles from 1995 - 1997. _______________________ (Info copied from previous videos) A "Tune Up" Is a common term referring to the replacement of Spark Plugs and their wires, which are necessary components to your vehicle's Ignition System and Engine in general. Replacing them is absolutely necessary to lengthen your engine's lifespan. Many years ago, tune ups included the replacement of Spark Plugs, Wires, A Distributor Cap, and Rotor -- And Had to be done every 30,000 miles. Today's fuel-injected engines have largely eliminated distributor caps and rotors, replacing them with "Coil Packs", but spark plugs and the wires are still essential parts that wear down, and must be replaced. Quality plugs (Double Platinum and/or Iridium) can last up to 100,000 miles.
