One of the oldest East London markets dates back to 1869 and began as a Saturday trading market. It was moved to Sunday, by Act of Parliament, in order to accommodate the needs of local Jewish traders. This also provided the opportunity for Covent Garden and Spitalfields traders to sell their stock left over from Saturday. It is open between 8am-2pm on a Sunday. The vibrant flower market is enjoyed by all age groups and not just for flower lovers. There are a mix of fabulous independent boutiques shops selling vintage items, antiques, homeware, garden items as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs. Situated off Hackney Road a short walk from Spitalfields market, Brick Lane and Hoxton. The nearest train stations are Hoxton and Shoreditch High Street (London Overground). Bethnal Green (London Underground Central line) and Bethnal Green and Cambridge Heath mainline stations are also within walking distance.
