Full Direct-To-Film (DTF) Transfer Process on the F2100 - Step by Step - Quick Demonstration

For today’s video, I demonstrate the entire process of direct-to-film (DTF) on the Epson F2100 direct-to-garment (DTG) machine. This process is a great alternative to DTG as it uses the same ink and allows you to decorate garments without having to mess with pretreatment. These transfers are also great options to decorate on 100% polyester as well as other non-cotton fabrics. Thanks for watching my video. Hopefully, this was either helpful or entertaining to somebody out there! 🔔 Subscribe for more decorating videos like this ➡️ https://bit.ly/3lPkpbk 🛠️ Products Used in Video: EcoFreen: Transfer Film for Direct to Film (DTF-DTG Transfer) https://www.ecofreen.us/products/ecof... I have listed two suppliers in the description which I recommend (non-affiliate). These films have two sides; one which is matte and the other which is smooth and glossy. Make sure the glossy side is down and the matte side is facing up, otherwise you will have issues printing and the ink will run. For the print process, make sure to print the CMYK layer in reverse before the white layer. I will make another video of setting this up in Garment Creator soon. Once the ink prints, it is important to let the ink set for at least a minute before powdering. After letting it sit, apply the powder by fully covering the image with powder then shaking the film and flicking to remove any excess powder where the ink didn’t print. The last step for preparing the transfer is to melt the powder. I typically do this with a heating element at 250-300 degrees F for approximately 2 minutes. The powder can also be melted with a heat press, but it will take much longer. For the heat press, hover the top heating element as close as possible to the film without touching it for 2-5 minutes at around 320-350 degrees F. Once prepared, you can use the transfer by pressing it onto your garment for 15-20 seconds at 290 degrees F with medium pressure. After pressing, remove the garment and allow it to cool to room temperature before peeling (using a smooth motion). Once the film is removed, re-press the transfer for 5-10 seconds for the best final result. This should ensure a long-lasting durable transfer on your garment of choice! 📝 Short Breakdown: 1) Print the image onto the glossy side of film in mirror mode. (CMYK--White Ink) 2) Apply hot melt powder evenly and remove the excess powder 3) Bake the hot melt powder (250-300°F, 2min) 4) Transfer the image by heat press at 290°F for 15sec with medium pressure 5) Cold Peel (remove the film gently) 6) Heat press again for curing (290°F, 5sec) with medium pressure FULL DISCLAIMER: I make a small commission on my amazon affiliate links
