After receiving a few request, my answer is “YES", you can replace (some) trim motors with the trim unit still installed in the engine brackets. It’s always better to bench the unit, only in extreme applications and /or different trim units where it involves splitting the engine brackets or removing engine mounting bolts, this procedure would save the customer several hours in labor cost.
