Currently hosted by prominent journalist Rupesh Shrestha, Fireside tackles critical socio-political issues, featuring major figures who are accountable to the public. ३ दिनको अविरल वर्षाले देशका विभिन्न स्थानमा आएको बाढी, पहिरो र डुबानले १९० भन्दा बढी मानिसको ज्यान गयो । ३० जनाभन्दा बढी नागरिक हराइरहेका छन् । ४० अर्बभन्दा बढीको भौतिक संरचना नष्ट गरेको यो विपद्ले देशका अधिकांश सडक अवरुध्द बनाइदिएको छ । पुल-पुलेसा, सडक, जलविद्युत आयोजना ध्वस्त बनेका छन् । कति घर डुबे, कति बगे… कुनै तथ्यांक छैन । संघीय राजधानी काठमाडौं समेत आक्रान्त बनाएको यो विपद्ले नेपालीलाई फेरि एकपटक नराम्रोसँग झस्काइदिएको छ – के यो देशमा सरकार छ ? छ भने कहाँ ? भौतिक पूर्वाधार तथा यातायातमन्त्री देवेन्द्र दाहालले बाढी, पहिरो र डुबानमा यति धेरै मानवीय र भौतिक क्षति हुनुमा सरकारको कमजोरी रहेको स्वीकार गर्नुभएको छ । तर यसमा सरकार मात्र नभएर नागरिकको समेत जिम्मेवारी रहेको उहाँले बताउनुभयो । कान्तिपुर टेलिभिजनको साप्ताहिक कार्यक्रम फायरसाइडसँगको कुराकानीमा मन्त्री दाहालले विपदका समयमा राजमार्गमा भएको क्षतिमा सरकारमात्र दोषी नभएर सवारी चालक र यातायातसम्बद्ध निकायहरु तथा यात्रु आफैंसमेत जिम्मेवार रहेको भन्दै मन्त्री दाहालले सरकारको बचाउ गर्नुभएको हो । अविरल वर्षापछि खस्न सक्ने पहिरोलाई ध्यानमा राखेर रातको समयमा यातायात सञ्चालनमा रोक लगाउन सरकारले दिएको निर्देशन पालना नगर्ने निकाय र कर्मचारीमाथि कारबाही गरिने प्रतिबद्धता मन्त्री दाहालले जनाउनुभएको छ । चाडपर्वको समयमा राजमार्गमा हुन सक्ने कठिनाइ कम गर्न सरकारले वैकल्पिक मार्गहरुलाई प्रयोगमा ल्याउन काम गरिरहेको मन्त्री दाहालको भनाइ छ । फायरसाइडको नयाँ अंकमा भौतिक पूर्वाधार तथा यातायात मन्त्री देवेन्द्र दाहाल । Due to three days of continuous rainfall, floods, landslides, and inundation in various parts of the country have claimed the lives of more than 190 people. Over 30 citizens are missing. This disaster, which has destroyed physical infrastructure worth more than 40 billion rupees, has blocked most of the country's roads. Bridges, roads, and hydropower projects have been devastated. There is no clear data on how many houses were submerged or swept away. Even the federal capital, Kathmandu, has been severely affected by this disaster, leaving Nepalis questioning once again: Is there a government in this country? If so, where is it? Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has admitted that the government is partly to blame for the significant loss of life and property caused by the floods, landslides, and inundation. However, he also stated that not only the government but citizens, too, share the responsibility. In an interview with Kantipur Television's weekly program Fireside, Minister Dahal defended the government, stating that it is not solely responsible for the damage to highways during the disaster. He pointed out that drivers, transport agencies, and even passengers themselves bear some responsibility. Minister Dahal expressed the government's commitment to take action against agencies and officials who failed to adhere to the government's directive to halt nighttime transportation, considering the risk of landslides after continuous rainfall. He also mentioned that the government is working to open alternative routes to ease the difficulties on highways during the festive season.
