Overnight backpacking trip on the Florida Trail in the Ocala section, featuring Hopkin’s Prairie and Hidden Pond 1/20/21-1/21/21 Just finished a one night out and back solo hike on the Florida Trail in Ocala. Camped at Hidden Pond, such a beautiful spot. Honestly, a lot of this short trip was a total disaster. Bear bag hanging issues, tent decided to be a pain out of nowhere, bushwhacking in the dark, slept super cold even though it wasn’t that cold, spilled a whole pot of boiling water everywhere, phone stoped working, bathroom issues (ahem), and maybe more. I lost track. 😂 Being a newbie backpacker sometimes seems like a series of lessons learned the hard way...Yet somehow, I’m always wanting to get back out there, even if it’s tough. I really am thankful for every lesson learned, and every chance I get to stretch the limits of my physical and mental toughness. Even when everything is going wrong, I can’t help but pause for a beautiful view. Somehow it’s all worth it. PCT, I’m getting ready for you. I know there will be a serious measure of struggle, but I’m up for it.
