Vegan Jackfruit Carnitas 🌮 🌮 RECIPE: 🌮The sauce: 🌮1 Tbsp tomato paste 🌮1 Tbsp soy sauce or tamari 🌮2 Tbsps extra virgin olive oil 🌮1/2 tsp salt 🌮1 Tbsp garlic powder 🌮1 Tbsp smoked paprika 🌮2 Tbsp cumin powder 🌮1 Tbsp organic cane sugar 🌮lots of chilli flakes 🌮 Mix this up and leave it to the side . PREHEAT: the oven to 425 degrees . 🌮The jackfruit: 🌮rinse 2 cans jackfruit in brine 🌮 Cut off the hard end bits 🌮 Add olive oil to a pan on medium heat 🌮Add half a diced onion and the jackfruit 🌮Add 1/2 cup water 🌮Cover and summer for 10 mins 🌮Mash up the jackfruit . 🌮 Add the juice from one fresh orange 🌮 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice 🌮1 Tbsp liquid smoke 🌮 Now add the sauce you made earlier and mix it up 🌮 Place the jackfruit mixture on a baking sheet 🌮Bake at 425 for 15 minutes . 🌮 Add to corn tortillas 🌮 Add fresh jalapeño, cilantro, red onion, guacamole, and fresh lime wedges.
