MMA training for holistic health and conditioning | Mixed Martial Arts training

I made a few videos recently talking about MMA training. Some people asked me to talk about my Martial Arts journey. I started physical Martial Arts training very late in life, at 38 years old. I'm now 44. I spent years, just training by myself in nature, for hours. I ran track, and have been a runner for over 30 years. I also did yoga and general fitness training, strength training, resistance training, etc, since I was a teen. So that is my base in fitness. But only in the last year, since 2023 I have been training in MMA gyms consistently to pick up more skills, and be able to spar and grapple. Since 2018, I've been a gym nomad, going from one style to another, trying to learn from every form of Martial Art, because I'm a very curious person and I like to learn everything. I trained in Kickboxing, Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Kung Fu, and military based self defense. Not extensively (yet.) I could never stay with just one style or one tradition. I need them all. That's why I chose MMA because I can do everything within MMA. The whole point of MMA is to integrate all of the forms of Martial Arts, into a holistic functional system. Functional strength, and skill development that work in reality, is the goal for me. I'm not too concerned with how my muscles look, like some body builders. My philosophy is that the body will look the way it needs to look when it has the functional strength and can do what needs to be done in the performance of the forms, and completion of the goals you set. The point of this video is mainly for my clients, who are non-Martial Artists and want to use Martial Arts training for their overall wellness, cardio vascular health, and conditioning. To add to their fitness training regimen. Please don't think that by watching this video you will learn how to win street fights or cage fights. It's not a self defense manual. I'm just showing you a little bit of how I train daily. The stretching routine, the shadow boxing routine, and the weight training routine. I do a lot of other things in my training. This video has pieces of my training just from one day's workout. My workout is designed for me, for my style, my strengths and weaknesses, and my body type. It may not be the perfect style of training for everyone. You can use this for inspiration or to follow along, if it's right for your goals. I'm also still recovering from injuries that I got earlier this year. I squatted 215 lbs 20 times. And I was fine actually. But later that week I also did a lot of knees and kicks in MMA training, and then BJJ on top of that. Altogether it ended up being too much.
