Terry Molloy is one of the longest-serving soap opera actors in the world from his time as Mike Tucker on The Archers. But in the 1980s he wore another hat, or in this case mask, when he was the third actor in classic BBC sci-fi show Doctor Who to give both life and voice to Davros, the creator and leader of the Daleks, a role he has continued in the Big Finish audio dramas. In the time that Whovians would regard as 8.5, post-McGann and pre-Eccleston, the North Shields actor spoke to Front Room's Jason Bradbury about being a voice actor and one of the unrecognisable figureheads of the Doctor's arch-nemeses, following on from Michael Wisher and David Gooderson. Clip taken from Front Room, originally broadcast on BBC Knowledge, Friday 28 January 2000. The BBC has thrown the TARDIS doors wide open to celebrate 60 years of Doctor Who, and there's a huge amount of archive inside. Interviews, photos and documents sit alongside hundreds of programmes from the Whoniverse on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds.
